Nalandabodhi Seattle at Nalanda West provides an extensive series of opportunities to study, meditate and act within the Buddhist tradition. We have frequents special events, such as periodic teachings by The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and other renowned teachers, in addition to the following regular schedule:

Nalandabodhi's resident teacher, Acharya Tashi Wangchuk, provides ongoing dharma teachings. Further study opportunities are available through our study curriculum classes and book discussion groups. Also join us for our DVD series by leading teachers and tour Nalanda West or just come to talk at our regular open house. Or just join us for regular meditation.

Nalanda West is also fortunate to provide weekend programs by famous teachers such as Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.

Nalandabodhi is a network of meditation and study centers dedicated to continuing the genuine lineages of the Nyingma and Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism in the West.

The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, founder and head of Nalandabodhi, lives in Seattle and regularly teaches at the Seattle center.

Nalandabodhi Seattle offers Buddhist meditation practice and teachings every Sunday morning at 9:30am until 12:00 noon (except for the third Sunday of every month) as well as regular Buddhist study courses.

New to Buddhism or to Nalandabodhi? Visit our monthly OPEN HOUSE. Basic meditation practice instruction, an introduction to Buddhism and an introduction to Nalandabodhi are provided free of charge.

Khenpo Rinpoche
Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche
Khenchen Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche (familiarly known as "Khenpo Rinpoche") is recognized for his prodigious scholarship and vast compassion. He is also known for his accomplishment, often compared to the great yogi Milarepa, whom he resembles in both substance and style. Khenpo Rinpoche is the spiritual advisor to Nalandabodhi. We have been honored to host Khenpo Rinpoche in Seattle each year for an extended teaching program since 2001. The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche
Acknowledged as both a meditation master and one of the foremost scholars and educators of his generation, The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche is known for his sharp intellect, humor, and the lucidity of his teaching style. Fluent in the English language and well-versed in Western culture, Rinpoche is also an accomplished calligrapher, visual artist and poet. Acharya Tashi Wangchuk, Seattle's resident teacherAs a graduate of the 10 year Shedra program of scholastic training at Karma Shri Nalanda Institute at Rumtek Monastery, Sikkim, India, Acharya went on to teach at the Shedra and came to Seattle in the Spring of 2003 at the request of The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche to provide ongoing teachings to western students and the Nalandabodhi sangha in Seattle.

Acharya teaches each Sunday morning at Nalanda West, except when he is traveling. See the Nalanda West schedule for specific dates and times .

Study Curriculum Series

The Study Curriculum in an ongoing series of classes which succinctly but thoroughly provides an overview of Tibetan Buddhism. All are welcome to attend this series of classes, held on Thursday.
